When Julie Wheeler took on the role as Head of LightHouse at King's School, a leading independent boys' primary school in Auckland, New Zealand, one of her first tasks was to review the school's existing Information Communication Technologies (ICT) to determine what was working and what was not.
LightHouse is the name given to a purpose built 3 storey specialist facility housing the school's library, ICT labs, science labs, music and art rooms. The real passion around Apple in education is to see a difference that the use of the technologies make in learning, teaching and research. The Apple technologies are great - but in the hands of confident educators, they become stunning, enabling, paradigm shifting catalysts. Cyclone, as a new Apple education specialist, has invested heavily in Apple experienced staff members who understand how this stuff makes a difference. Mary McQuoid has joined the team to bring to you her vast experience with using Apple kit with both adult learners and students. Her energy and patience blend together, enabling you to understand, adopt and innovate with your students. Mary can work with you directly or engage specific experts in the professional Apple applications (Adobe, Final Cut, Logic) to lift your expertise, at your place and at a time that suits you. One to one, small groups or bigger presentations, iPads or Macs - let her know and she will get the right professional development to you.
